Bio
Emilia Ahopelto is a dance artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She focuses on developing her own artistic practice by creating solo works alongside working in various projects and groups. She is a member of Omiaruhje collective and Klikki collective. She studied at CobosMika SEEDs (2018), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (2017) and Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School (2014).
Emilia is intrigued by movement, its mechanics and physicality as tools to actualize the themes of her works. Thematically, she delves into different psychological phenomena and aims at creating atmospheric, abstract worlds. In addition to her creative endeavors in movement, she works as a sound designer in her own and Omiaruhje's works.
